I have been on the hunt for some time now for a bright eye pallet, I found one!!!

The colors are beautiful, and with a lip bush and some water these pantone colors can be used as lip colors!!! Could it get any more perfect?!

I also indulged in a brush set that comes with a wonderful black envelope styled carrying case!

Manic Panic Rockabilly Blue Results!!

These are the results of my dying adventures this week!!!

The quality of the picture is not ideal, but you can get an idea of the color.

I used Manic Panic Rockabilly Blue, it is a violet blue, and I definitely have some purple streaks!!

I decided to dye over my faded black hair, and did not get the results I wanted, though I expected this and i'm not too upset about it.

My hair is still a fun blue, and I can't wait to brighten it again!

I do suggest that if you have black hair or red hair to get the color professionally lifted, and have a salon professionally bleach it.

- A Few Tips!

With Manic Panic the bottle says to leave the product on for 30 minutes, I left mine on for an hour and a half to two hours, just to make sure!

Use Vaseline around your face, neck, and back, this will help the color come off easier after rinsing.

The information I read suggested not showering to get the color out of your hair.... I didn't really have that option because my shower has an odd plastic wall thing preventing anyone from putting their head under the faucet, so I showered....

If you do shower be prepared to scrub your tub!!! I used bleach water and an old scrub brush from my kitchen.

To get the blue off of my skin I used a st.ives body scrub with exfoliating beads and a poof scrubber, the majority of the blue came off, it no longer looked like a sat on a smurf colony...

Lastly after you wash the color out sleep with your hair in a pony-tail and lay a towel over your pillows, this way you don't wake up to a fun blue surprise!

P.S. Baby wipes are amazing at getting the blue off of your face!

Bleaching your hair

Bleaching:

I went to my Local Sally's store and picked up the following items....

Salon Care 30 Vol. Creme Developer which was around $4.00 without a sally's card

L'oreal Quick Blue Bleach Powder, on sale for $14.99 without sally's card

A mixing bowl, $1.49 without Sally's card

An Applicator Brush on sale for .79 cents without Sally's card

Then onto a local department store I purchased a 50 pack of gloves for $5.99 and a small off brand version of Vaseline for $1.49

Following the directions on the backs of the bleaching products I mixed the developer and bleaching powder together,
mixed until it was a creamy consistency, rubbed Vaseline onto my face neck and upper back, and had my husband help with the bleaching process ( What a Guy!!!)

How we did it:

We separated my hair into three large sections, one on each side, and one section in the back.

Starting with the back of my hair (for this is where your hair is the thickest and thus takes the longest to bleach)
we separated my hair into smaller sections, and from about an inch away form my roots applied the product

(your roots will change the quickest so do them last, the heat from your head will cause the bleach to react rapidly, we waited until the last 15 minutes and applied the bleach, I think we should have waited til the last 5)

Working from the bottom to the top we did this all over my head.

I covered my head with a plastic grocery bag when the product had been applied to the majority of my hair,

then went into the bathroom and applied heat with a blow dryer for about 3 minutes (for my head was on fire!)

I waited about 40 minutes and then decided to apply the rest of the bleach to my roots (they changed quickly!)

I then rinsed out the bleach from my hair, and shampooed with Ion for colored hair from Sally's Beauty Supply.

I blow dried my hair, brushed through thoroughly, and applied my color!!

Hope this was a helpful post!!

Remember to wear old clothing, try not to get the bleach on your skin, do not apply heat directly to hair with product on it, brush hair thoroughly before bleaching, and of course avoid contact with eyes!

Happy Coloring!!!

Manic Panic Rockabilly Blue Revue!

My dying en-devours!!!

I used Manic Panic Rockabilly Blue, and its a very pretty blue!!

My pros are as follows....

: Easy application, but make sure you have your hair put up in sections, just slapping it on your head = Bad Idea...

: No smell, usually after do it yourself dyes you smell like a wet dog for a week...

: Cost Effective, at my local sally's salon the dye is only $10.00

: Easy to apply yourself, You can choose to use an applicator or your hands, no messy bottle to deal with.

: Bright Beautiful Color!!!

Now my Cons...

: Stains Everything! I had a few people tell me be prepared for blue everywhere, it wasn't quite this bad, but my tub and my whole back side looked like a murdered a small gathering of happy smurfs...

:  Didn't go too far, I had to use 1 1/2 bottles, but I believe this to be because I have hair Rapunzel would be jealous of (in the thickness dept.)

So over all its a great product and I will definitely be using it again!!! Love Manic Panic Rockabilly Blue!! I'll post a pic of my new blue do, along with some tips on dying and bleaching!!!

My Remy

My little man Remy,

Remy Wade is named after Remy Labeau a.k.a. Gambit from X-Men, and Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool.

He is obsessed with any super hero, and the color blue (so much in fact he's begged me to have blue hair, why wouldn't I accommodate?).

Remy is 3, in preschool, and is fantastic at making friends, and the best big brother to my other little man Ollie.  The robot is Remy's best dance move, and he can use electronics far better than his mother can....

I love being this little boys mommy!!!
